Loneliness durning Burmation

madlady Oct 19, 2003 07:42 AM

i can't believe some people actually want there dragons to burmate. My Rex started over 3 weeks ago and i miss seeing his charming face upon his basking spot . He has been hiding out in his cave and only comes out to bask and nibble on his greens for about an hour a day some times shorter than that. It's amazing how fast we become attached to them and there antics and when there not there it feels so lonely without them. i find myself looking to his cage all the time. i feel like im going through withdraw. He is doing much better than i through it all

The first time my first dragon Chupacabra went into brumation, I was so bored and lonely. It gets easier the second year. This will be our third year but this time I have her daughter who isn't showing any signs of slowing down yet.
It'll be ok!!

I'm not liking that idea either. I've got one who seems to be slowing down, and 2 more who I think will brumate. I just wanted them to for a few weeks, not the whole winter. I've got big cages that I'll clean out really well while they're brumating.
