Hot side too hot?

Tigergenesis Oct 19, 2003 08:45 AM

The hot side of my tank has a UTH set on a RheoStat. It is set on the absolute lowest setting possible w/o turning it off. The UTH only covers part of the hot side and has a hide directly on top of it (half log). The temp directly on top of the UTH (substrate lizard liner carpet on top) never gets below 94/95 degrees - even at night. During the day it sometimes goes as high as 100. Is this too hot? Do I need to make some changes? I use a digital thermometer/hygrometer and have double checked it with a tempgun.

Temps on the cool side are about 75/75 at night and 80-85 during the day.

Thanks

A 100 - 85 gradient does sound too warm.
