What do you think of my striped? (PICS)

herperjames Oct 19, 2003 03:13 PM

I posted pics of her last year when she was a little worm, and now a year later she's 2 feet and thick as mud. Enjoy!

Wow, is that what my baby hypo stripe is going to look like? OMG thats freegin the nicest snake I've ever seen!

She's just a really nice normal. She has beautiful, pure yellow all along her body but it is hard to see in that picture (the colors are perfectly accurate except for the missing yellow). It was easy for me to tell she was going to be nice when I saw her at the reptile show a few years ago, her stripes were (and still are) full and ran from her head to her tail unbroken, and that seems to be somewhat of a rarity in baby striped normals. She was also pretty red. I was thinking of getting an albino stripe instead, but something about this snake really attracted me, and look how she turned out! I can't wait to breed her and produce more beauties like her. I'd want to breed her with something other than a male striped because I'm looking for morph variety along with hets. If you or anyone out there has a suggestion, then I'm all ears

Anywaym thanks a lot for the kind words, nobody has ever said that about any of my snakes

Two things pop up in my head. Butter and Bloodred. If you use a Male butter or male Bloodred you could produce Butter stripe hets or Bloodred stripe hets. Butter stripe and Bloodred stripes are very rare and I think if you ever produce them it will be worth all the trouble. Butter stripes are still over $1.000 these days.

I am not really a big fan of stripes but I love that snake.
I would love to have THAT snake for a project I have in mind.

For those of you with stripes. Is this typical of normal stripes?
It seems that most of the ones I've seen are hatchlings or yearlings and the stripes are much more pronounced. I don't like it when the stripes "overpower" the over all look.
In this snake it is a perfect blend....in my opinion anyway.

Marcel has an excellent adult normal stripe, I'm sure he'll post a pic (or you can go to his site). I have hatchling hypo stripe and normal stripe and that snake, when compared to Marcels looks like an adult hypo stripe...

I'm usually wrong though and it makes me mad...
