I currently have a Nikon Coolpix 4500 (got it for $580) and I really like it, but I am thinking of getting the Canon EOS-10D (list price $1449), because I've always wanted an SLR digital camera but could never afford them until recently.
(I will definitley keep the Nikon though, because of the pictures you can take using the swivel lens.)
