Dragon ate 2 feeder fish today

shortydsm Oct 19, 2003 07:05 PM

I was doing a water change in the tank & had Dragon out with me & he saw the 2 feeder fish (which have been in his tank, unnoticed, for months now)....he ran up to the little plastic cup & tried to eat the fish thru it, so I took 1 fish out & let it flop around on the ground & Dragon devoured it & then went after the other one! This is the 1st time he has eaten fish & I've heard they aren't the most nutritious thing to offer but I was wondering if he will be able to digest the bones ok? Should I offer him more? Or just stick with pinkies, crickets & superworms...

Feeder fish are fine to feed, they are high in calcium, just make sure you don't fed them everyday, over time they can cause blindness in reptiles, but once in a while is fine. Goldfish are the worst as far as the eye problems go, but try rosy minnows or guppies.
