when incubating eggs?

should I place the eggs 50% in to the vermiculite? should I mist the eggs direcly or add water to the surrounding area(vermiculite)? thanks

I have had success covering the eggs 3/4 of the way. I do not wet the eggs directly. If I need to add moisture, it is in the substrate surrounding the eggs.
