How do you all ..................... *more*

How do you all get vitamins and calcium into your snappers, once they have reached a size where turtle pellets (wardleys, reptomin, etc) are just too small for them to eat? My common snapper is around 12" round and is eating worms, fish, and mice. I occasionally inject calcium and vitamins into a F/T mice to feed it, but is there an easier/better way to do this? Can the vitamins and calcium be put in their tanks and be absorbed?

Thanks

I don't see why you don't feed pellets anymore yuou snapper isn't that big I can understand your point if you have a 150 ally. I'd feed yours maybe 50 mazuri 2 times a week that mayeb too much do? It should be able to eat mazuri pellets no problem. You can get 3 lbs for 15 buck at www.turtlecafe.com

I have never tried turtle pellets with this specific turtle. I just figured it was too big to consider pellets real food. I caught it about a year ago and was feeding it chicks, cooked chicken, liver and beef heart, and fish. At that time, it wouldn't eat worms or mice. It finally started eating both and devours them with no problem now. After it started eating the f/t mice, I injected it with vitamins and calcium before feeding it.

Anyway, when I go back to the local pet store, I will get a refill of my reptomin bottle (they only charge $2 for a refill if you have your own reptomin container). If it eats that, I'll buy a huge container of it.

thanks for the advice

It may take some time like the mice. Mine on the other hand will eat anything you put in front of it.
