sav eating hissers

tribbielvr Oct 19, 2003 09:24 PM

I bought hissers to feed to "Fluffy" our bosc. It is hilarious, now typically she will eat ANYTHING that does not eat her first. Well I refuse to prekill a hisser for her! She is too funny she HATES to have the legs kicking her in the face and will spend 5 minutes attempting to kill it, then drops it, then bites it....she actually seems grossed out by all those legs! In the end it goes down with a big gulp, like everything else she eats, but she truly does NOT appreciate having to "kill" it herself!

For those who remember we took two savannahs that were almost dead. The smaller one, who was in way worse condition finally came around and was eating great. We got her going in the right direction but really didn't know what to do with her. We could not put her in the enclosure with Fluffy and she was definately ready to be out of the "critical care unit". Anyway, we were able to find her an excellent home with a boy that has other large herps and fell in love with her. He took her with the instruction that if it did NOT work out, she would come back to us. Anyway, I am glad she rallied and now has a good home and we can just enjoy "Fluffy".

Well there ya go, a successful "rescue". Glad to see they both came around. Good job.
