Hey,
I am going to bring in a couple of geckos to my son's kindergarten class on Friday. Any suggestions on what to say about them that would be interesting to 5 and 6 year olds. I've pretty much ruled out a genetics lesson

I cant even understand all the genetics let alone some 6 year olds, hehe. Maybe they'd like to hear about what they eat, or how friendly they are. Or if you grab their tail it'll fall off and wiggle. Sorry not much help,

i think they'd like to hear the "gross" stuff. like they eat their shed skin, and their urine is solid. and they come from the same place some terrorists do, lol, jk.
I think it's great to take them into class. I did this at the beginning of this school year and I am going back next Monday to show them babies that have hatched out. The other post mentioned telling them about what they eat, which is a good I idea. I also showed them examples of their dishes, told them what part of the world they are from, the different colors, how many eggs they lay at a time and in a year, how long they take to hatch, etc. I even told them that the temperature determines whether they are boys or girls. Once you get going, the five and six year in them will begin asking questions and the only problem will probably be how many you can answer
.
Have fun!
Greg
