Please help me identify my snakes

calvo Oct 20, 2003 12:29 AM

I am new to the world of "HERPS" and after getting my own place have finally got my dream pets - a pair of snakes. I am 90% sure that they are bull snakes (pituophis M. Sayi) however have been told by various people that they are 1. Bull snakes 2. Fox snakes 3. Prairie kingsnakes ???

What do i have?

I have looked at all three on different websites and they are very similar. can someone with more experience in this (which shouldn´t be difficult) please clarify this.

Thanks for your time

Andy

Well, that picture is not the best but I can tell you it is definitely not a fox snake or a prairie king. Whoever told you that was grossly mistaken.

It seems awfully small to be a bullsnake. I guess it could be a fox snake but I've never seen one with that regular of a pattern before. Usually they are more abberant. Can you get a better picture?
