washcloths as substrate for an AFT??

alieliza Oct 20, 2003 01:17 AM

Ive been searching for the perfect substrate for my AFT (if such a thing exists) I am currently using jungle earth. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on whether or not washcloths would be suitable to use. I have an idea that they would hold moisture well, similar to the idea of using paper towels in humid hides, as well as paper towels in general. The advantage i see to using wash cloths over paper towels is that washcloths are reuseable (just me being enviro friendly and economically smart.) Just throw em in the wash and thats that. Could i wash them with regular scented detergent and skip the dryer sheets or fabric softener, or would the smell of the detergent still come through?
any input would be great.

I would think the nails would get caught in the washcloths.

toes get caught in the loops of the cloth.
try cloth diapers or just do the paper towels.
i did all of the above and stuck with paper towels. Easier to clean...just roll it up and throw it out. Every night i roll them up and change them. You dont have to do it as often as I do... I'm just a neat nick. lol
