Hey all! Long time no see - I was just having a look through the posts and saw one from Edward re the temp that Aus gets to at night. As you're probably aware - temperatures differ due to environment. My direct area in melbourne get's freezing at night, especially now to the point that there is ice on the grass. By saying that - I mean that Melbourne has 4 seasons in one day. It's an old crack people have about melbourne and it's true, but our weather is totally different, South Australia (adelaide) is the same. I spoke to a canadian guy I used to work with about the different weather - he said that it's totally different. Canada and americas weather has a totally different feel to it, the cold has a different bite to it, the sun doesn't burn like ours does etc.. This would have direct bearing to your previous discussion. Compared to VIC and SA, Western Australia would differ due to the fact that the state takes up 1/3 of the country, therefore as you go higher you are getting closer to the equator, Hotter temps. Top end oz Is generally nice at night, hovers around the low teens (oC). About 5 mins from my house is a flora and fauna park - there are Blueys EVERYWHERE! mainly blotchies. I am in a 'semi rural' area. we back onto bush.
so Blueys are a common thing near me - temps seem to suit. Anyway - just thought I'd give you the Aussie perspective. cheers!
Luke.
