PICS OF MY NEW LEO...WHAT KIND EXACTLY???

bmills May 28, 2003 07:27 PM

This is my new leo...got her yesterday. I was told she was leucistic, but I have just been informed there are no such thing as a leucistic leopard gecko...they are patternless. Does this mean she will lose her colors and spots? How old do you think she is? She is about 4 inches long. She is very friendly, she will come over to my hand and lick it when I stick it in the tank and then climb up. She was jumpy yesterday, but already has calmed down. Never hissed or bittin, like the baby blizzards I saw. I havn't named her yet, so any suggestions are welcome. I was told by the pet shop guy she was leucistic...I was then told on here there are no such things, so she must be patternless. I just got these pics. Please let me know what kind she is, and if she will keep her colors, and how old you think she is. Thanks for the help.

Sorry for all the pics, got carried away. I am very excited about my new addition to my leos. She is my 3rd. I am new into the leo world, I know, but very interested and have been researching a lot to learn about them so I can be a good owner.

I fed her 8 baby crickets tonight, and she ate them right up, how many is okay to feed her? My other 2 leos I got as they were older. This is my first baby. Please let me know.

feed her as many crix as she will eat! she sounds like she has an appitite!

yes she is a patternless. she will lose her pattern and change colors as she gets older. I've attached a picture of my patternless as an adult. he looked like yours when i first got him. he was also called a leusistic.

How close to my albino do you think the patternless will get? here is a pic of the albino that I have.

That is a shame she will lose her color and pattern. She is very beautiful how she is, but your patternless was very beautiful too, so I guess it's a win win situation. I am still trying to get ahold of a jungle, blizzard, and snow. If you ahve any suggestions, please let me know.

is it patternless albino?

bmills May 28, 2003 11:36 PM

I have some pictures posted you can take a look at...I'm not sure if it is patternless albino or not? What would be the difference. The tank was just labeled leucistic, which I now know is incorrect, it is a patternless. Please let me know the difference between the patternless and hte patternless albinos, thanks.

She looks great. Shes a patternless, A very pretty one too. You can feed her as much crickets as she'll eat. How old is she? She'll lose the spots hence the name patterless, lol. Even without the spots patternless are always very beautiful as adults, and be sure to post updated pics when shes a little bigger. L8er

Yea, that is what I thought...the store said she was 8 months, but I have an 8 month old normal who is 6 inches long. So I knew she wasn't that old. I appreciate the help, thanks.

I guess I need to start calling her Golden Gat3e Geckos lol! SHe has the most beatiful patternless leos anywhere.

I did not get it from her. I found 3 of them in a pet store near my house and they were in good shape and I got to take her home that day. She is a garbage disposal, she just ate 13 crickets tonight. She is very beautiful and extremely tame, I can pet her without a problem, and she will eat from my hand already and has never hissed or bitten. She has no problem with being picked up either. She was skittish the first day, but after that, she has been great.

I appreciate the compliments. I will definitely post pics as she grows. it's really easy doing a good job when I have a baby leo that has no problem with being held or petted. She will even eat out of my hand already.
