` You didn't provide enough information about the Anaconda for me to feel comfortable giving advice. How old, how big, how long feeding on turtles and frogs, what type of feeding response, what kind of general behavior, and health?
` There's more art to asking a good question, than to answering one!
` I will say, what a sad waste of turtles and frogs.
` Of course, that just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I am sorry you are right. the snake is about 16 inches long. he is less than 5 months old. i aquired him in august. in august he ate one turtle and one frog. then in early september he ate another frog and turtle. hes in great health. he not fat but definately not skinny. great tempermant. he used to spend all his time in the water part of the tank but ive added a hide box and now he spends most of his time in the hide box or basking. ive tried to feed him mice in the water and in the hide box dead and alive. i ve seen him eat the frogs. he immediatly persues them and eats them. i havent seen him eat the turtle but i seen the shape of the turtle in his belly. i even tried fish (goldfish) and crayfish and there was no response.
please help
im sorry for the previous lack on info.

` Why did he get fed turtles and frogs in the first place? Was it the previous owners?
` Baby Anacondas can go for an amazing amount of time without eating. Many novice keepers of baby Anacondas get much too concerned when they don't eat every week. Babies sometimes go for months before their first meal! I would offer him pre-killed rodents only, at weekly intervals. Don't start another bad habit by introducing him to live, warm blooded food. That should be your last resort, months down the road. Let him get hungry, then rodents may look better to him. I would also suggest that until you get the feeding routine established, keep stress to a minimum. Pre-killed rodents should be heated in warm water to 110 degrees F. Also, make sure that his soaking water is 78 to 85 degrees! Hell, my adult Anacondas eat 8 or 9 times a year.
` What is his environment like? Temperature ( air and water ), humidity ( measured a few inches above floor ), cage type and size, floor temperature range, photoperiod, substrate, ventilation, etc. The more information you give, the more likely you are to have someone spot something as a problem.
