is sevin dust safe for preventative use?...

h0mersimps0n Oct 20, 2003 03:19 PM

Sorry to post up top but the last post was falling, falling...

sometimes I see little bugs here and there get through the screens in my townhouse (lousy townhouse), and the other day I saw something tiny flying around in my adult cage and nearly had a stroke. It was tiny, I smooshed it and looked for others but there were none.

I was thinking, would it be wise to use sevin dust as a preventative for any big infection. Lets say I just take some of it and mix it in with my substrate in all my tanks (the young and old)

Effective or overkill?

Homer the only time i use it at home is when i bring in something new to the collection, and that's probably overkill since i only buy captive born from my buddies in my herp club. How's class going?...Paul..

I bagged two wild turkeys with my bow saturday morning .Well ive got them slung over my back braggin to my buddies at my hunting skills when the first wave of bites hit me.I dropped the birds to the ground and tore my shirt, sweater, and hunting duds off.I coundnt figure out what was now biting my lower end so off come my pants socks and shoes.Well my buddies were in hysterical laughter mode and made a comment to look at the birds. They were infested, grossly infested, god horribly infested, with fleas. It looked like there were 10 per square inch on 2, 15-17 lb birds.Lesson learned the hard way.Someday i may even laugh about it.hehehehehe...Paul.
