I noticed a couple days ago that there's a spot on my anole around the back/neck area that is sort of milky in appearance. Is this beginning stages of molting or....?

You'll see many blotches - and the next time you look it will be all flaky - and the next time you look it will be all fresh, new skin! It happens quickly and frequent depenging on age.
