i have a built a very large cage,12x6x6, i am hoping to make a community of tegus. right now i am planning on having 2.0 Argentine Black and White Tegus, 0.0.1 Blue Tegu, 1.0 Argentine Red, and a 0.0.1 Gold Tegu. i will have around 3ft. of dirt for them to dig in. for those of you who have tegu communities, or have had one. i just want to know how they all did. i have had Taz my male Arg BW for around 3yrs now, and not too long ago i acquired a male Argentine Red. i'm just wondering how it's gone for those of you who have done this before...? if by some odd chance all my tegus are male, does this present a problem? any suggestions you have for me would be great. thanks for reading

Thats a lot of tegus to take care of. Where do you plan on putting that cage? My two tegs are getting along great . They sleep nexit to reach other now.Did not have any Problems with mine out side of Siena(my blue female ) pushing Santiago Of the basking spot the first couple days . Nowe when she just lays nexit to him now . Good luck with your project. Russ

i plan on putting them in my reptile room. if for some reason some do not get along, i have two 6x3x3 cages so im covered. the biggest thing im worried about is Taz. he gets along with my lizards outside his cage. but his cage has been his cage for about 2yrs now. so i hope he doesnt freak out. and incase your wondering Taz now gets along with my Red tegu i got. very happy about that. i dont have them in together yet. i guess i could put them in the same cage. but i want to make sure they will be fine. i am going down to Agama Intl. in about a month or so. i am going to pick up a new male Argentine BW. i've gotten into monitors and it's taught me a lot. right now, i have got a 6month old Nile Monitor that is around 3ft. and a BlackThroat that is 5' and is not quite a year old yet. iv learned tons working with them, and with getting a new Male Arg BW im determined to raise him into a 5' Tegu. my Red Tegu came in late August was almost a year old almost 3ft. now is 4ft. thought i would tell you my plans since you always seem interested in very large lizards time to stop

Hi Matthew, I've never attempted what you are suggesting, but I have read a great deal about the territorial nature of males. I would be a bit hesitant about keeping more than one male in a cage together from what I have read, although like I said I don't know that much about it. Just a thought,

tegu males are actually pretty good with each other. i just dont know about 6 males together. i could end up with that. i'll have to make like 3-4 basking spots....

i'm home schooled i got all the time in the world. i have to do 15 pages of work a day. and that takes me around... 1 hour maybe...? its very easy.

i've gotten letters from University of Arizona wanting me to go there for soccer. full scholarship. im trying for University of Florida though. im only a sophmore so i have plenty of time.
my dad likes my lizards, and has already said he would gladly take care of them all while im at college.

I use to play soccer. I played at Chabot Community college in Hayward Ca. I also played Semi Pro in San Fransisco , At Balboa Soccer Staduim. This was in 1984-1987. There was a team called The Greek Americans Was the Us open Cup Champs in 1985 And had alot of colleg - Pros and ex pros on there team . They had guys That played on the Irianin and Houndores National teams on there team. They were in the same leauge that I played in.I also almost went to Preu and Played. TheUS goverment called my house 3 times to talk me out of goinig. My college Goalie couch was from Peru. And I also tryed out for the San Jose Earthqukes in 1985. . As i stated earllyer I played Goalie. I will stop now . What Position do you Play? Take care Russ

for the past year they have been moving me around in defense. i would rather stay at one position though :/
