calvo Oct 20, 2003 04:46 PM

I am new to the game of Herps and recently fufilled my dream after getting my own place nad purchased a pair of snakes. I assumed (with my very little knowledge) that these snake were Bullsnakes.
After this i have had various comments (form various people) that these snakes are :
1. Bulls 2. Fox 3. Prairie Kingsnakes ????????? 4. Rat snakes.

I was wondering if anybody can help me out and identify these snakes.

Attached are pictures

Thanks Andy

Very hard to tell what species they are from these photos.
They are definantly pituophis as ohidiophile stated. The antierior blotches are reminicient of P. d. deppei. But I can't tell from the photos. If I had to be pinned to something, I would say Sonoran Gopher (P. c. affinis) but with a better pic I could be more certain. A few things I AM certain of. They are NOT Prairie Kings (Lampropeltis) Fox (Elaphe [pantherophis] vulpina) or Ratsnakes (Elaphe [pantherophis] obsoleta ssp) hope that helps
