Powersun bulb question

I was wondering if anyone has there powersun bulb on a rheostat cause i tried mine and it didnt work just wondering if i need a new rheostat or if they cant be on one.I have a zoo med rheostat the cheap one that you turn the dial and can only handle 250 watts. thanks steve

They can't be used with any mercury vapor bulbs.

thanks mattman i was figuring that but wasnt sure i just put some bigger vents in i had 2 4"x16" vents in before now i got 8"x16" in there now.thanks steve
