How are collared lizards in terms of handling/disposition?

Vel Oct 20, 2003 05:45 PM

Are collard's ok to be handled, and personable like iguanas, or do they prefer to be hands off? Also how big do they get usually and what size tank is recommended?

Captive bred collareds don't seem to mind being handled and can be almost dog tame. Wild caughts can be very wild and skittish.
I would suggest at least a 30 gallon tank but a 40 and up would be better.
