zophobas beetles (giant mealworms)

does anyone know how to differentiate between male and female zophobas beetles? thanks. also, any tips on breeding are much appreciated. mine are very sedantary...

Well just FYI, Zoophobas are not giant mealworms. 'Giant mealworms' are genetically modified ordinary mealworms (Tenebrio Molitor) to not turn into beetles so they eat and eat and get big.

'Superworms' are Zophobas Morio, a diferent kind of beetle than the mealworm.

Other than that i have no clue on sexing them.

the giant mealworms are not genetically modified...they are given a hormone which prevents them from creating a pupal molt so they continue to grow as larva. They will eventually pupate when the juvenile hormone levels decrease but they are given a large dose.
