For new hatchlings, I would feed them every day.

You can never have just one gecko. Actually it is almost impossible to have two

se enough to newborn that I too would recommend feeding him as much as he wants every day. You can do this by giving him dusted small crickets and then, after about an hour, removing any stragglers who don't know how to be eaten

is more than sufficient, even for hatchlings, in the Ca dusting catagory. Too much of a good thing is bad too. Don't overdo it. I dust even less than that and no problems here.

I just think the crickets are so tiny anyway that they don't really get that much powder to stick, especially with all that running around.

Do you know of any cases where a leo has been overdosed on calcium though?

I have seen some hypothetical messages that relate to suspected Ca induced disease.

My main input is from experience in raising quite a few dozen hatchlings and the idea of "Why over do it?"

If 2-3 times a week works, why risk 7 days a week? "Too much of a good thing is bad" theory.

I would feed him every night, as much as he will eat, and remove any uneaten crickets after. :-]

I'd say move up to bigger crickets and feed as many as he'll eat. After 10-15 minutes, if he hasn't gone after them, pick them out. Pinheads are pretty tiny, and if he's that big, he can take a bigger meal. Feeding him pinheads would be like feeding a human individual cheerios. Any crickets smaller than his head should be fine (3/4 the size of his head is a safe guide).

Mine's 2 months old and was eating some good sized crickets last night. mmmm....crickets....

If he gets freaked by the bigger crickets, try putting one in at a time and herding the little jumper towards him. Once he sees it near him he'll be off for the hunt!

Mine's 2 months old and ate 4 crickets last night (about 3/8-1/2" long cricks). The breeder saids he was eating 2-3/night, but she didn't eat yesterday, so I guess she was making up for it.

Hope this helps.
