..they want to ban reptiles in Tampa, and then the rest of Florida. The discussion is on wednesday morning,10 am.Maybe by writing,or if you can, attending it will help our cause. The ban is resulting from requests by Humane Society and animal rescue organizations.Think about it,how many unscrupulous importers are there in FLORIDA???Maybe,a high license fee for them would curtail quite a few?And weekly(surprise)inspections of their facilities. There are a great many Floridian breeders and individuals that are suffering from the "fly -by night" reptile peddlers and individuals who figure out that $40 rock python isn't what they said it was and chuck it in the alley, maybe licensing could save the hobby there? Thanks for your time.Sinc.,Jason

I personally keep large constrictors. My collection consist of 1.1 Bali yellow head retics and a pair of bar neck scrubs i just put on hold. I'm planning on 10 more large constrictor pairs this year. Weather they ban or not i'm still keeping my snakes! IT will never go through. This is Florida, one of the places where the hobby is BIG! They try and ban us all the time but it will never happen. Much like those trying to ban hots. We have a great permit system in effect for venomous and strict regulations. Permits for non-venomous is rediculas! The smart thing to do would to get store owners and vendors at shows to explain to their customers the size, eatting habbits and so on of the reptiles they are selling.
