For all of those who posted in the flame war below...

herpin1579 Oct 20, 2003 08:52 PM

The only point of posting my pictures was to share with you my bullsnakes. How could you turn something as simple as that into such a flame war. I respect ginter and j. cherry. I have no authority to question the animals they sell. I am only 14 and dont act as childish as some of you. I am very disapointed! I do know that animals will vary greatly in there locality. I have personally seen wild animals in kankakee. I have seen animals that have been close to looking anery and those that look just like mine with a deep chesnut color. If I hadn't been in the conservation area I would have collected these specimens. I would just like to say that you all need to grown up.

I agree with you! People sometimes just don't have enough things to do.

Don't let that flame war ruin coming here for ya. The positive outweighs the bad here bro!

Take care!

as being a female and 11 unsexed foxsnakes? If that's the case, please email me or post some more information on them. Are they Eastern or Western Foxsankes? My email address is:

Unfortunately on forums like these things can get out of hand. Allot of the people who visit and post on this forum have strong views and committments. It's difficult to know when to stop or say "when" if something is said or comes up that starts soemthing like what happened. If the thread is stopped short, then it will keep cropping up in the future. A forum like this sometimes becomes a place to air things out. I don't know about you, but I saw allot of posts where people posting were trying to settle things or end it. One person cannot just end it. So what happens is everybody who wants to air something out posts and when it dies out, the thread is generally deleted from this forum at the point it went sour. You will find out that just because a person is an adult doesn't mean they don't act like what was put on the thread. I don't think that getting things off your chest is childish or immature. I got some good info out of it myself when you get through the flames as you put it. If you can go through the rest of your life and never see some adults arguing or displaying different views or committments you will be the luckiest or unluckiest person I've ever seen. The fact that your picture brought up a debate over the Kankakee bullsnake has done more for what this forum is intended than any pictures I've ever posted. Of course, it isn't intended to be put on the forum like it was. I wish my pictures stimulated the interest and posting yours did. I don't agree with things getting out of hand, but I would hope they go far enough so that things settle down for the future. Thanks for the reminder that we all need to grow up. We have grown up, but we have to get things aired out and we sometimes look otherwise. Good luck and let me know on those foxsnakes you have listed.

"If I hadn't been in the conservation area I would have collected these specimens."

I wonder how many others would have passed them up regardless of where they were located at the time? I personally enjoy seeing herps in their natural environment as well without the main purpose being to collect them.

Childish you say, this is only the beginning (LOL). Wait until your first board meeting, your kids first little league baseball game or a Home Owners Association meeting. What you saw occur here is nothing in comparison.

You ain't seen nothing yet. People don't grow up they just grow old, LOL!

oldherper Oct 21, 2003 07:56 AM

You are absolutely correct. You showed a much higher level of maturity in here than at least one of the "adults" did.

Unfortunately, there is at least one person in these forums that claims to be an adult, but can't seem to resist taking a thread such as yours and trying to use it for his own twisted agenda, thereby turning it into a "flame war" which suits no one's purposes and serves to do nothing but disrupt the forum. He has issues, but don't let that discourage you. Maybe one of these days, he will catch up with you in maturity and learn when enough is enough.

We're proud of you and the ethics you display..keep it up. We need more like you coming up in the hobby.

And, as others have said..."You ain't seen nothing yet." It seems like the older some people get, the more childish they become.

:The only point of posting my pictures was to share with you my bullsnakes.

And thank you for it, as they are awesome snakes! Always keep in mind that it's YOUR satisfaction with the animal and respect for the breeder that count. If you have a passion for what you are doing you can't go wrong. For my part in the thread, it was never my intent to undermine your appreciation of the animals. If I did so I apologize.
