In hoping future Indigo breeders do not get lazy

madmatt Oct 21, 2003 01:10 AM

Just wanted to add some flavor to the discussion of the need to minimize further inbreeding in captive populations of Drymarchon.
Here is a link that describes the effects of inbreeding in people. I can imagine if my snake were afflicted with similar symptoms, I would have a hard time diagnosing the conditions for my indigo being that she is in a captive environment.
For what its worth! Not too scientific but for me this made the effects of inbreeding more accessible, especially the Disneyland effect!
I apologize if this becomes a cut and paste exercise.

I am NOT offended by your post. Simply because I KNOW that keepers of *DRYMARCHON* are anything BUT lazy, what with the sheer amount of fecal matter we clean EVERY DAY. Obssesive perhaps....but not lazy But the rest of your post was
*excellent* and did indeed bring some interesting things to light, both about Drymarchon and the affect of inbreeding on people. I have seen first hand the affects of inbreeding on people by reading some of the negative posts here. lol
Thanks for posting, I learned alot from the link you sent. I am amazed, truly.

Thanks,
