Cage size - how many could you put ...

iso Oct 21, 2003 02:24 AM

Hi all

Im putting together some cages this week. I know to keep males seperate. How many females could I put in a cage with the following inside measurements?

13.75x14.25x18.0 ? I was thinking two females. Would that be too little space for them? I was planning to make four cages like this..two for two females and 2 for two males.

thank you very much for your time.

that's fine for what you plan to use it for. You can even increase the surface area of the cage by adding vertical slabs of cork bark, or using egg crate.

Adam,
You can do that or since you are building four cages put an adult in each and then pair them up (male & female) in two of the cages during the spring. Or you could even leave them paired up for the year with cages that size. However I would not put anymore then two per cage. Best of luck.
