use dirt as a substrate and manybe get some cork bark. then mist the cage until the dirt is wet and you should be fine good luck

Misting will do very little if you have too much ventilation. In fact all you will end up with is a soggy monitor in a moldy cage. Most experienced indo species keepers use very little ventilation, if any, with their enclosures. Just opening the door once a day or so when feeding/changing the water is enough. Keeping a large water container in the cage will also help (large in surface area not depth). In my 6' x 3' cage I only have a small series of 1/4" holes for ventialation on the cool side of the cage. Check out cybersalvator.com for more good stuff on waters....

Controlling temps and humidity are just a matter of controlling ventilation. Being that I live in a somewhat dry climate (SoCal), very little ventilation is necessary.
