A baby pic

Dragoon Oct 21, 2003 09:26 AM

Hello.
Just a pic from this morning. Things they don't tell you about hatching monitors; its really slimy, they drag umbilical cord things and they run real fast. If you have a stong stomach, its great stuff.
This is a Varanus rudicollis. Black roughnecked monitor.
I hope this pic is incentive to someone. Monitors do more cool things than kill mice or hang out in a living room. Just let them.

What is neat, (and to my relief), they all have different chin stripes. So I'll be able to tell them apart! Whew. Number 3 has a little white W on its chin, so its Wing. Its probably bad luck to name them, eh?
Good luck telling baby indicus apart!

Congratulations! Great job! Very few are actually breeding these guys!

If you feel like sharing some more pics on the net let me know. It would be great to have some pictures of your babies on the Varanus.nl website.

Will you be keeping them all yourself?
Enjoy those cute little creatures!

Cheers,

Vincent
