I have a 5 1/2 inch normal and it's about 5 months or so. It is soooooooo nasty that it's name is now Nasty. How can I get it used to being handled without being bitten? and does it hurt when they bite you?.....

wear gloves, and yes it can hurt, my albino when he was 6 inches bit and shook his body tearing out a big chunk (the picture below is him hes 10.5 inches long now) i left him alone for a while then tried again he doesnt bite but he does growl. if that doesnt work try gloves eventuly hell calm down and wont be so bitey

Thanks for the speedy reply. I think i will try the gloves soon. do you recommend any certain kind?
they dont have to be very thick
leather gloves work fine,
just so they keep the sharp gex teeth out of your flesh

chainmale gloves should work. just kidding. I agree, try leather gloves. handle it for just like 30 seconds or so then wait a day or 2 then handle again. Work your handling time up slowly till you fell comfortable then try with out gloves. Just don't be affraid I think they can tell. I had to do the same with one of mine, now she will let me hold her for a short time. She don't really like it, but she at least don't bite anymore.

all i can say is to handle it more often and try to get it to trust you...i have a gecko right now that has a attitude but she only trys to bite when you do something she don't like and shes only bitten me a few times i am the one who feeds her so i think she thinks twice about biting me. when she was smaller she would hiss and open up her mouth when i would pick her up but it didn't bug me i was like i am bigger than you your little mouth doesn't scare me so i think that if you show your leo that even when it gets picked that being aggressive isn't going to help i think it will soon out grow it and be at least reasonable nice. it may have a attitude though. this is just my opinion it has usually worked for me....
