CFBN Paludarium

jleahl Oct 21, 2003 10:58 AM

I recently set up this small paludarium for one CFBN. It has a Duetto 50 filter that creates a minmal waterfall at the back. I have been feeding the newt blackworms, which he loves, but the last two days he's been out of the water; today I had to nudge him into the water to feed him. Already had to rebuild the waterfall, because water was spilling into the soil. I do have a layer of styrofoam peanuts, under a layer of weedmat, under the soil. Any suggestions or comments are welcome!

Thanks! Jan

Looks nice, but what temperature are you keeping it at?
It may be too warm for the CFBN, it needs 70 degrees F or lower.

Right now the temp is about 70-72 F; but as the cooler weather sets back in (we're having Indian summer right now, but tomorrow it will change!), it will probably settle about 68, which is where we keep our house. We usually keep the AC set to about 74 in the summer, so I'll have to come up with something before that...
