best place for pinheads?

FalconBlade Oct 21, 2003 02:12 PM

Does anyone know a good source for ordering pinheads? I'm looking for the lowest price and good customer service.

how long do pinheads stay small enough for darts to eat? Up until now, all I've fed from is ff's, termites (which I collect myself in the spring/summer months), springtails and field plankton.

i feed my darts what i would call 10 -14 days, about 1/4". my imitator eats pins and 7 days,1/16" -1/8". with pinheads if they don't die or get fed to frogs can go for about 2 weeks till they get too big.
with all the frogs you have you won't have to worry about them getting too big.
about your other question just order 500 pinheads from the various places.
hope any of this info helps.

i order mine from flukers. I have had the best luck with them. as ssoon as you get your pinheads give them food and water or they will not survive the day. I also use a 40 watt head lamp for mine (they seem to last longer). Also, put tape or vasoline around the top of your container to keep them from climbing out. One last thing i recommend, order a box of 1000 because many will not survive the trip to your front door!

i get mine from reptilefood.com, and get the containers of 1,000. its worth the extra couple bucks if you have a lot of frogs. i only get these to give me darts something differnt or if for some reason my FF's are low. they will replace anything that dies in transit, just let them know that day and you should get a replacement the following day.
