what should the temps be on the cool and hot side, what types of bulbs do most use? moonlite,red heat, ceramic? they are nocturnal right?

is it ok to handle them for short periods for bonding?

I would say that the warm side should be about 85 and the colder side should be 75-80. I am using a blue moon bulb for heating during the day, and nothing for heating at night. I am using the moon bulb because I think a basking light is too bright, and ceramic heaters are too expensive.

You can handle the frogs, but I would not handle them too much more than is necessary for cleaning and maintenance of their terrarium. Be sure to ware non powdered latex gloves or wash and rinse your hands very well before you handle them.

Red lights are also awesome for heat. i bought one and it brought my freezing cold tank up 15 degrees!! Also, with the ceramic heaters... they last about 5 years, where as bulbs last 3-6 months. When you look at the costs, its actually cheaper to buy the ceramic heater.
