Adult Colors

devilish1182 Oct 21, 2003 06:05 PM

I am a boa person and very new to GTP so please try to bear with me if my questions seem really dumb. First I wanted to know if any adults can maintain their bright red coloring they have from babies or do they all eventually change. Around what age does the color change start? And I wanted to know the best site to get a good aquarium from and do any of yall have examples of your personal enclosures you can share.
Thanks
Kate

Hi Kate, let me answer some of your questions quickly then point you in to right direction.

Chondros will not keep the red color.. It would be nice, but it just has not happend yet (i say yet because i feel anything can happen)

Also save your aquarium for fish. This will not house a chondro properly. You will either end up having to spend all of your time misting and trying to keep things warm or the snake will die. There are alot of enclosure out there that work great for chondros. Rubbermaids, Visions, BARRS, MD Custom, or invent your own.

Now for those links.

http://pub28.ezboard.com/fchondroforumfrm1 - this is the chondroweb forum. The best place on the net for chondro advice.

http://www.finegtps.com - this is Greg Maxwells site. I reccomend you read his site from end to end, purchace his book, read that from cover to cover then give a few breeders a call talk to them and work out any loose ends you have.

Its my advice to you that you do all of this before asking questions on chondroweb, though people are very friendly on that forum. You are going to hear something similar from them.

Good luck, and welcome to the wonderful world of chondros!
