new mali isnt eating

munkyofdeath Oct 21, 2003 07:14 PM

Hello,
Over the weekend, on saturday, I bought a mali uromastyx at the reptile showin Tulsa. he's about 8 inches long (wc) i put him in a 75 gal tank he has plenty of sand to dig in...a big dome hide and a basking area thats around 110 degrees, the cool side is about 90. I've been trying to feed him mustard greens, sweet peas, corn, and dandy lion leaves/stems but he wont eat, any suggestions?

probably isnt acclimated yet. wait a few days or weeks then if he still isnt eating (which will probably not be the case) ask again. good luck!

alright, im worried about dehydration though, i've heard people say to put him in room temp water (thats probably not good for letting him get used to his surroundings) but i've also heard that can easily led to tail-rot

i really wouldnt worry, he will eat when he wants. As for bathign you always want to do this at warm to the touch to semi hot water. room temp isnt goign to do anyhting. after the bath blow dry them to prevent tail rot.
Good luck
