CAN a frog/toad DROWN?

just wondering this because i heard some talk recently.

Can a frog actually "drown" if they cannot access air?

Any air breathing animal can drown if not givin access to air. Yes, they can drown.

if an animal has to breathe air it can drown. esp when you are talking about treefrogs and toads that don't spend their lives near water, only when breeding. that's is why we say the water bowl should only be deep enough for the frog to sit in, not swim.

Yes they can, if there is nothing to float on in their water and it is too deep. this happens often when people have tadpoles and ignore or forget about them when they are close to turning into frogs. the newly morphed frogs can easily drown if not given a land area.
