Snails

Mothi Oct 21, 2003 08:40 PM

Where do you get snails from to feed your skinks? Are there certain types of snails to chose from? Are there any websites you recommend for breeding specific species of snails? Do you take the snails out of the shell prior to feeding or feed with the shell? Most of the calium is in the shell right?

I don't have any skinks yet, but I am planning on getting several crocodile skinks and want to prepare things ahead of time.

Apple snails are among the easiest to raise and they multiply readily. They do get quite large but this is actually a plus as you will have a range of sizes. I suppose, though, that for crocodile skinks you'd need the smaller ones.
Anyway, I hope this is of some help.
