HUNTING ENDANGERED ANIMALS

joeysgreen Oct 22, 2003 12:27 AM

Does anyone have any concrete information about the Bush administration pushing to allow American hunters to kill and import trophy animals?
This is a huge topic for debate and as this includes several large reptiles it is something any herp nut should fight against. Being canadian I have no idea how I would begin to express my opinion so that it mattered.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but here goes. I don't see how Bush could have anything to do with laws governing hunting animals in other countries. Importing animals is different than Americans (or anyone for that matter)hunting animals that are protected by another countries government. If it's illegal to hunt these animals, it's illegal no matter what, American nationality has nothing to do with it, and I'm sure other countries won't stand for us coming over to hunt their endangered species.
This is the only thing I can think of that may be related http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/10/11/endangered.species/index.html
