Leopard gecko problem continued.....

cv768 Oct 22, 2003 12:29 AM

My 2 abino leopard geckos have black spots under their bellies. It seems to be on thier organs.

I don't think it's in the stomach or the liver. It appears to be an inner growth like a tumor or something...I actually have no idea. Any insights??? Has anyone heard of anything like this???
It don't think the problem is with parasites because we treated them with a dewormer already for 5 days. It definetly flushed out thier systems. Anyone ever heard of this???

Also is finiky eating a common thing with albino geckos???

I think I remember reading in a previous post somewhere about someone being worried about a similar bluish black spot on their geckos belly. I think the conclusion was that it was probably their stomach contents and that they were just going to go to the bathroom soon. But if they are not eating well maybe you could try enticing them by hand (not force) feeding with something really tasty

One dewormer isn't going to take care of all the parasites that could be causing your leo problems. There's not even a guarantee that it'll get rid of all the parasites that it's effective against, because it's possible there are parasite eggs that haven't made their way down to the intestinal tract yet. In fact, that's why you're supposed to follow up with another dose.

It's possible that the medication itself caused your leos to lose their appetite.

However, there are other things to consider. Loose substrate, improper temperatures, etc. can affect your leos' desire to eat.
