ericR Oct 22, 2003 01:28 AM

hi

I am new to keeping arborial snakes. I have got some that I believed to be imports but were sold to me as CB. I've looked on several websites for information on how to get them to eat and am yet to find anything of any use. Please Help Asap.
Thanx for any help EricR

Tell us what you have tried and we can go from there.

This is the same person that asked the question I just hadn't created a sign on name yet and was using a friends. I have tried pinkies, Fuzzies and small mice both F/T and F/k . And presently am attempting to try a tree frog. Any help whatsoever would be very appriciated. So far as the bird comment I don't have any clue where I could get a bird small enough for the snake to eat I don't live in an area with very many big pet stores all of them are locally owned. Thank you for any help Caligirl.

well, that's what I've tried over here(holland, europe) and it
works 100% !!
so think, and try to fix a ride to a petstore or something like that.
because it works for me, why not for you?
maybe cutting a mise open?
it's a dirty work, but you will save your snake maybe!
cut the brains open from the mise, the smell will get your atb to eat (maybe)

greetings, marcel

its hard to say not knowing the cage environments, the heat, humidity, age of the snake. try getting a pinky hot under a light, i will usually sit pinkies on a heat lamp, get them good and warm, then proceded to pinch, lightly the back and tail of the snake, until its good and irritated, by holding the pinky infront of its face about an inch or so away, the snake usually hits right away, now if its a baby it may take more than that, look into piky pumps, either do an online search, lots of people sell them, or bigappleherp.com sells them, its gross but it squishes the pinky through a tube into the throat of the snake, often saving te snake, if the above said conditions arent right it will continually cause the snake to have adverse reactions possibly leading to its end, theres lots of good arboreal sites out there, good luck d

Try washing the rinsing the mouse off with water to get the mouse smell off. Then rub it on the tree frog to get the tree frog smell on it. I have used this several time with baby and juvenile tree boas and it has worked almost every time.
