How much space does my Brooks need?

Passport Oct 22, 2003 08:50 AM

I posted a pic a couple days ago of my new male lavender Brooksi. How do you folks with large specimens like him keep them? I have a rack for my corns, blanket size. And at the moment I have him in a 20gal long tank. I have priced and am considering a 50gal reptile tank. When he comes out of his hide he looks a little crowded in the 20gal but if kept in blanket box he wouldn't have much more room. I also could convert a 75gal reptile (currently containing torts) and put him in there. Comments or suggestions welcomed.

Really it depends on the individual snake and his habits. I have my kingsnakes that are about his size in blanket boxes. However, they'll usually let you know if their enclosure is too small. You'll see them rubbing their noses on everything. But, like I said, mine are in blanket boxes and are doing fine.
