Hi, just for an update on my lizard. (The one with the big spot problem) If you don't remember i'm sure its the last post i put up. Anyways, it turns out its some kind of fungi, and all i have to do is put neosporin on it.Thanks for your help guys. By the way, the Reptile vet, had never ever heard of a mite "pocket". Has anyone else?

as the one I told you about that turned out to be an infection, of some type. Jim said as soon as he put the ointment on it started to go away. The spot you showed appeared to look the same to me. Although it could have been the mite problem too, but you said he was not wc and had no bugs. Happy for you ! As far as the mite pockets, yes we have all heard of them, some have seen mites in them, one of the places you look for mites, on a wild caught collared, behind the front legs. Anyway, post a pretty pic of your guy, now that he's getting all fixed up, heheheheh LOL Take care, Eve

...that neosporin had any anti-fungal properties. And the antehumeral mite pocket is only found in certain species of collareds, although the postfemoral mite pocket is seen in several other lizard families.

haha true, i finally got him still. But of course as soon as i put him back in the tank, he's thinkn "lets take a dirt bath!! " haha, so yea he was covered in dirt for a while. And hey check this out, he wags his tail at me!!!whats up with that? when i pick him up, its very very odd kinda cool, but odd.

Yeah Skits, tail wagging is just another cool trait of the collared, they tail wag sometimes , as they stalk a cricket, sometimes it appears they do it when they look at us, or another collared, but I usually see mine do it when they see lunch, in an excited sort of way, heheheh ! But it is neat ! Eve
