I need help with my escape artist

Urojade Oct 22, 2003 03:26 PM

George my yellow saharan is and escape artist i built him an enclouser a little over 6x2x2 so i could get two females to live with him but i wont be getting them till later in the week,im hoping he wont teach them his bad habit and maybe they'll intice him to stay in the cage, he's escaped 6 times since i put him in the new enclouser becuase i didnt have latches yet but my dad wanted the cage out of the garage and i only had room to put it in if i put george in it so i did, the first time he's pushed things that i tryed putting in front of the cage out of the way so i took a long peice of wood and proped it up with other pieces so the the doors couldnt open and even if he did manage he'd have to push the entire thing down so i'd notice right away, but this time the entire cage was closed the barrakade was up and he was gone i found him near by but i dont know how he got out everything was just as i left it so unless he can walk through walls i dont know i put him back in and put tape on the doors so if they get opened i'll know sheesh he's almost more trouble than he's worth , i'll have the latches soon and i hope those can stop him

My URO was like that too, always trying to escape! Since i put him next to a window and i lowered the temp to less than 120, he stopped doing that and calmly basks in the sun without willing to escape anymore!

The photo below shows my male Muffin and a female(?) Sharan that i bought very weak 10 days ago.She is much better now.

WOW he looks stunning! Beauty Uro my friend..

Now as for his escaping, can you post any pictures of the enclosure? This might help us point out any possible escape routes he might be taking.Latches should be pretty cheap too, just a couple dollars at any hardware store or home reno type place.Until then, Duct Tape! hehe
