I work at a small pet shop and we recently got some(5) young adult Leos in. They are all doing well except one I noticed is loosing weight and his tail is getting thin. I go in everyday and hand feed him and give him water with a dropper. He stopped eating on Monday and will spit the insects out, but will drink afair amount of water for me. This morning when I got in in the morning his eyes were closed and I picked him up and he took a good drink of water but wouldn't eat. I soaked him in warm water for a few min to see if he was keeping his eyes closed because he was weak or if these may have been crusted. He opened his eyes and they were milky white. It was not a unshed skin, is was like he had a thick layer of milk over his little eyeball. I gently rinsed his eyes. I left a very shallow 1/8 of an inch of water in a plate in his tank.
He climbed right in and drank more and just hung out in the water for a bit.
Is anyone familiar with what I described about his eyes? Right before I left tonight I checked on him and one of his eyes was starting to look clear (not milky white).
I am concerned, If he doesn't show improvement in the next day I will buy him myself and would like to help him at home also.
Thank you in advance
Tiff =)
