California Newt, Taricha torosa

KristenM Oct 22, 2003 10:09 PM

Hello,

I'm looking into getting a California newt, I was wondering about other people experiences with these animals, the usually stuff like temps, and how cages are set up! Any info would be great, as not too much info is on the net that I have found.

Thanks a bunch!
Kristen

I've never had this species, but here are links to some information that should be helpful. What are sold as "California" newts in pet shops are usually Taricha granulosa. True california newts are Taricha torosa. It is important to know which you have, as some are more aquatic than others.
