I got a Tegu!!! now I have a few questions.....sorry =)

YEA I just purchased a Argentine Black and White Tegu at the hillsboro Oregon show last weekend. I was a little worried buying it from LLL but it seems to be doing fine.
I have done snakes for years, and I have done bearded dragons but this is my first mainly carnivorus lizard. I keep getting different information everywhere I go so I would like to get some of you guys opinions.
First do you guys give yours UVB, I have a UVB light on him right now, and am also supplementing his crickets with a D3 calcium.
Second, when ever I feed my snakes I don't touch them for a few days after that, do you recomend anything like that on Tegus, IE after feeding them a pink do you leave alone for a day or anything like that?
Thanks
Jon

Also I will be setting up a website hopefully this weekend that will have most of my animals on there.

Congrats on getting the tegu! They grow up really fast. While he's growing it's a good idea to use UV just as an extra precaution against MBD. Also feed him everyday while he's young to facilitate the rapid growth spurt. Probably the best time to handle him is a little while after he gets his fill (multiple mice daily, try fruit too). Once he's an adult and not growing much anymore you won't need to worry about the UV/MBD anymore especially if you’re feeding adult mice. Also you shouldn't need to feed him nearly as often, just a couple times a week if that. Enjoy his baby period while it lasts, you'll hardly recognize him in a few months! This B&W male only had about 10 months of growth at the time (4 feet long).

I was planning on feeding him everyday, I have been giving him a little bit of egg mixed with soft fruits. I was thinking feeding a pink every other day and feeding crickets on the days that he doesn't get pinks does this sound good?
Thanks

Sounds good, but the eggs should really be left as a more of a treat or used to get him to eat new fruits.
