Switching babies over to unsented, need help!

snakecharmed Oct 23, 2003 04:11 AM

Hi guys,
most of you probably remember me from a few months ago, I had 2 baby western hognose that would not eat. Thankfully, they started feeding on toad scented pinkies and are now eating great. I'm worried though, winter is fastly approaching and if my toad dies I will be unable to find another one, I'm afraid that I will be unable to get them going on unscented. I have tried a few times with unscented but they are not interested. Any help with getting them to graduate to the next level would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Christy

I would freeze the toad, you can still use it for scenting then. I'm surprised they still won't eat unscented. Have you gave them a chance to get hungry? I would try putting them into a small deli cup with a pinkie overnight.
