Very nice specimen. his colours are great.
Another Pic...

Educate me a little: how do the super-dwarfs differ from the regular Jampea dwarfs? Smaller, I guess? How were they created? Who breeds them?
Thanks
Hi,
The Super Jampea Dwarfs are bred by Mike Wilbanks.
If you go to his website, he explains the breeding strategies.
http://www.constrictors.com/available.html
It's basically, breeding a very small imported retic, with a jampea. The small imports, I believe, are only 6 feet!! A normal Jampea still has the ability to attain 12-14 feet. Obviously, breeding them together will create a super dwarf.
Nice Pic Right

Very nice animal.
I looked at his site, and he doesn't explain where in the world the original six-foot super dwarfs came from. I guess they'd have to be an insular population of some sort, but from where?
The Super Dwarfs were first imported by Bob Clark and myself in 1999. They are an insular island population. The exporter told us that the island was tiny and unnamed. Without good locality data, we decided to give them the descriptive name "Super Dwarf". This year I bred a male Super Dwarf to an original Jampea female. Vake has posted a picture of one of those babies. I think that this breeding, besides making a smaller dwarf, has also added some nice color to the Jampea blood. Here is a pic of a 100% Jampea on top and a Super Dwarf X Jampea on bottom. I like both but I like the yellow color that the Super breeding created. I hope this helps you.

Do you plan to produce "pure" super dwarf retics, and if so when? Thanks.

I have been trying but have been unsuccessful so far. This year, I had a female Super Dwarf that developed follicles and bred but re-absorbed them and did not produce. Maybe I will have some next season.

Beautiful animal! Did anyone buy your little hogg yet? For anyone who has not seen his little baby hogg for sale, she is amazing!
Where'd you get this new baby?
Amanda
Hey Amanda,
I got this little guy from NeoScales, but he originated from Mike Wilbanks. To be quite honest, I'm amazed of the color of this dwarf retic. I've seen a lot of dwarfs, that have a more dull silverish coloration. This guy has tons of yellow and bluish grey!
My biggest mistake was not purchasing a pair of these guys from NeoScales
He sold the female...
vake j.
haha, I hear ya. Well you definitely got a beautiful baby!
Who knows, maybe you'll get a female relatively soon.
That little male is such a gorgeous creature.
Amanda
I just thought I might share a photo of the Jampea babys and perhapse dispell some myths about them being solid silver animals. Preapse you will recognize this little one, and please excuse any problems I have while trying to take pics.
Thanks Shaun D

I should get some updated photos of the parents but I do realy like this one it shows her colors very well.

I love the Jampeas. Beautiful animals (I am a great fan of silver in particular), awesome temperments and just overall amazing animals.
Just wow Shaun.
