Vargas Oct 23, 2003 11:33 AM

Hi,
Does anyone have any pointers for breeding Hissers and DeathHead Cock Roaches? Or is there any good URL's I can find info on this?
Thanks again, Steve

I've only kept hissing cockroaches so I'll write about these. I started with about a dozen roaches and for a long time breeding was very slow until I did some surfing on the net. Try google and you'll find some good websites. What I learned was roaches need to be kept warm and need lots of protein. I started using heat tape under the roaches and started feeding them dried cat food. With these changes there was an increase in babies.

good luck!

Try searching the old archives for ' James Tu'. The hissers I was taking care off for my son suddenly began to thrive when I followed his tips. When I keep crickets, I feed them 1/2 dog food, 1/2 rat chow with some powdered milk, ground up in a blender. I think that was his recipe for roach food, but to be safe look it up and don't trust my memory.
