Shipping to Hawaii

Mike Greathouse Oct 23, 2003 12:13 PM

Can anyone provide any information or a link to information regarding the legality of shipping a Redfoot Tortoise to Hawaii?

Fom what I've been able to find online, I'm thinking it is not permitted, but I have yet to find any direct information.

Thanks in advance.

From what I understand and am in the process of doing myself from FL is that Hawaii resident (recipient) needs to have a general DofA import permit that the U.S. seller or shipper needs to include with shipment. Also, standard vet health certificate within 7 days of sending. Box will need to be appropriately marked and sent to Honululu airport in name of recipient for inspection/quarantine and pickup.

Clear instructions are provided to permit holder who would then give to seller.
