Jungles average between 4-6 and Dumerils are about the same. I had a Dumerils for a little while and I've owned coastals for 4 yrs now. Both are great snakes and I don't envy you the choice...if it were me, I'd get both

Thanks I would like to maybe get a pair of jungle carpets moreila spilota cheynei unrelated next year. Right now I want to learn more about them before I get any. Do they require any special lighting?

thanks,
john

The answer would be no. They don't require UVB to produce d3 to process calcium like some lizards do. If you have one lying around, you could use it, but it's not required. As far as a heat source, there are numerous ways to heat a cage (lamps, pads, emitters, panels, etc). You just have to figure out what will work best for you and your snake.
